This demonstration is used to test the quickness of the demonstrator and is a dramatic way to show centripetal
force. By spinning the bucket over your head and at a sufficient speed, the water will all remain in the bucket.
If the critical speed is not achieved, it may be the most memorable demo of the semester. The demo room has some
towels for clean up if needed. This demo can also be done with a bucket full of nails to add a little audio effect
when rotating near the critical velocity. |
